Food & Dining

Meals are an important part of time together at Sound View. Our team can provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with snack and coffee service also available, or groups can make arrangements to prepare their own food or use an outside caterer. We’ll work with you before your stay to plan meals and discuss dietary needs, allergies, and other food arrangements.

Location & Timing

Meals are prepared by camp staff in our commercial kitchen and served in our Dining Hall. Dining Hall access is included during your scheduled meal hours. Weekend meal times are set by camp. Groups with exclusive use of camp may work with us to arrange their meal schedule. For a memorable meal by the water, ask about our Seaside Supper, a special dining experience for your group.

Sack Lunches

Sack lunches can be arranged in advance for outings and departure days.

Meal Counts

Provide your final meal-service count one week before arrival. After that, only small changes can be accommodated. Let us know about larger changes at least two weeks before arrival.

Dietary Needs

Contact us before your visit to discuss food allergies and dietary needs, such as vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, kosher, halal, etc. Special meals require advance planning and approval.

Preparing Your Own Food

Groups may prepare their own food when reserved lodging includes a suitable kitchen or cooking area:

  • Upper Lodge (Calvinwood): Kitchen

  • Lower Lodge: Kitchen

  • Large Cabin Village: Outdoor cooking area

  • Tent Campsites: Camping-style cooking equipment may be used with advance approval

Please arrange your cooking plans with camp before your stay.

Food Storage

Keep food in kitchens, closed coolers, other secure containers, or vehicles. Do not leave food out in cabins, as it attracts animals.

Cleanup

Please leave kitchens and cooking areas clean and ready for the next group. Large amounts of trash can be taken to the dumpsters near the dining hall or camp entrance.

Catering & Dining Hall Rental

Catering

Groups are welcome to use an outside caterer with advance coordination. The Dining Hall’s commercial kitchen is not available for guest or caterer use.

Dining Hall Rental

The Dining Hall can be rented for a half day or full day, without purchasing camp meal service. Dining Hall rental does not include access to the commercial kitchen.
