John Aho serves as Executive Director of Sound View Camp and Retreat Center, where he focuses on connecting people to nature, community, and meaningful outdoor experiences. With a background in camp leadership, youth development, and nonprofit operations, John has spent over 20 years creating programs that help people of all ages engage with the outdoors in accessible and transformative ways. Before joining Sound View, John and his wife Betsy founded Camp Inglewood in Nashville, a fully outdoor, year-round day camp centered on creativity, exploration, and connection. John lives on-site with Betsy and their three children and is passionate about strengthening programs, stewarding the land, and building a vibrant future for camp communities.

Betsy Aho moved to the Pacific Northwest from Nashville with John and her three boys and has spent most of her adult life working in camps and outdoor education centers. Before coming to Sound View, she and her husband ran a forest preschool in Nashville, rooted in a love for nature-based learning and simple, connected living. Betsy is passionate about creating spaces where kids and adults can slow down, unplug, connect with nature, and tune into their own thoughts and needs. Drawn by the beauty and simplicity of camp life, she feels especially grateful to help steward this extraordinary place into a new season, creating an environment that feels welcoming, meaningful, and a little bit magical for everyone who comes through the gates.
