The Tent-Cabin Village

This living area consists of a cluster of eight platform tents in a shady, wooded area. Four of the tents are “old style” canvas under a physical roof. (The tents have never been wet.) The other four tents have been converted to be more “cabin-like” but still retain three modern fabric walls with a wooden entryway. This make these newer structures roomier and able to be heated in the spring and fall. The tent-cabins each sleep ten, with bunk beds, mattresses, interior lights, and electricity .

This village is used for our summer camp. It is also perfect for scout groups, families, and youth groups that want a more rustic experience.

Also in the village is a small heated lodge/library set up with books, games, sink, refrigerator, and microwave. A large bathhouse serves this village.

A picnic shelter with brick cook stove and fireplace is in the center of the village and can be used for barbecues and gatherings. Firewood is kept in the shelter and more can be provided if necessary.

Individuals can book Tent-Cabins through Hip Camp.

Guests normally bring their own bed linens and towels but can also rent what they need from Sound View for a nominal fee.

Thank you to the churches and individuals who have helped upgrade the newer tent-cabins. A special thanks to the First Presbyterian Church of Puyallup.
