The Leaders in Training (LIT) program is designed to be a smooth progression from camper to staff. Being a camp leader is not for everyone, but the experiences you gain from your LIT and Rover years (hard work, thinking on your feet, multi-tasking, and creativity) will help you no matter what is in your future.

Registration begins December 1.
Take one, or even two weeks this summer for leadership training alongside new and old friends. You have started to “age out” of being a camper and are now ready to prepare to be staff – whether here at Sound View, or at home in other roles.
As an LIT, you will learn how to work with kids safely and effectively. You will learn how to teach camp skills, lead songs, tell stories, assist in camp areas, and be the loudest, proudest and most inspiring of Sound View. LITs are amazing, full of energy, and campers look up to them so we give them an entire leadership village in which to plan and learn.
The first week is training and learning how to lead and the second week will allow the LITs the chance to put their new skills into practice assisting with our mini-camp. After that, celebration and an overnight canoe trip.
Rovers - Roving Leaders
Roving Leaders (Rovers)
(Completed grade 10 )
FREE (Volunteer Staff Position) - must apply with Staff Application/Interview
Rovers are“roving leaders” who help out with all aspects of camp. They may be the 2nd person in the cabin, running errands, washing dishes, life guarding, or even helping out with maintenance. We can’t pay you as a rover but you can have a wonderful volunteer experience at an amazing place while making a difference to all those that Sound View serves.
