We depend on donations of various sorts to keep Sound View thriving and affordable. Without your prayers, financial and in-kind gifts, we could not very well maintain our one-hundred acre site, nor could we guarantee that all kids can come to Sound View, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

Please explore the numerous ways to support our outdoor ministry.

Unrestricted Donations: These funds are for overall camp operations as determined by the staff and the board. Taking good care of a large wooded property with all the pitfalls of keeping it “real and rustic” requires money. We work hard to be thrifty and good fiscal stewards while at the same time responding to what nature throws at us to keep trails, shoreline, buildings, and program areas looking their best.

Restricted Donations: Restricted donations go towards a specific program or passion. Whether you have a love for our farm and garden, want to see more disadvantaged kids attend camp, fund newer program equipment, or invest in future camp cabins, you can rest assured that we will use the money wisely and for the intent that it was donated.

  • Max Denby Garden: We will use these funds to maintain garden fences, plant vegetables, and invest in teaching tools to involve our campers, outdoor education participants, family and other guests in the techniques and advantages of sustainable living.

  • Farm Animal Fund: Our critters are cute but they need occasional care and plenty of feed and love. Our camp cats (the fuzzies) are our best cure for home-sick campers. If your passion is ensuring that our guests can experience a healthy and educational mini-farm them please consider a monthly gift.

  • Challenge Course Fund: Hundreds visit our challenge course (high and low ropes) every year. Each person is affected in a positive way by the Sound View staff who emphasize our commitment to “challenge by choice”. We keep the course maintained to the highest standards and your donation could help replace equipment as needed and fund annual inspections.

  • Waterfront Fund: Our waterfront is pretty amazing. Sometimes though, paddles break, life jackets need to be retired, and boats need repair. Your donations will help offset these costs.

  • Summer Support: Sure, we are a year-round camp but come summer there are a lot of specific expenses. Arts and crafts supplies, lots of arrows, camper recruitment, sports equipment camper t-shirts, paint balls, and medical supplies. We try to budget for each of these but of course, the unexpected often happens. If your heart is for summer camp - please consider giving to this fund.

  • Camperships: When a family asks for financial assistance to send their child to camp, we draw from this fund. You can donate to this directly, and/or if you are adventurous, you can participate in the annual Mud Run which adds to the campership fund.

  • Tents to Cabins Campaign: Over the next few years, we will be adding to our year-round capacity by replacing our one-season tent-cabins with warmer options. As we serve more youth, particularly with spring and fall outdoor environmental education, we need your help to give them warm, comfortable places to sleep.

Planned Giving: Legacy gifts to Sound View Camp would be an investment in life-changing experiences for youth in the years to come. We would love to talk with you about the planning involved to “give it forward” to next generation. Please contact the camp director to set up a time to meet and talk with him and a board member.
