This is an exciting time! Sound View’s 2018 “mini” capital campaign seeks to raise at least $40,000 to undertake some needed improvements to improve capacity - especially for outdoor education groups. Campaign ends on #GivingTuesday - November 27.
With your financial support, we hope to take on a very important project in the winter of 2019:
Convert at least four of the summer tent cabins into year-round cabins - each providing warm, comfortable beds for up to ten people. These are needed to grow capacity, expand our outdoor education program, and replace the old, torn tents.
Please read the supporting blog posts below.
Sound View Camp is blessed with diverse, interesting, and dedicated groups who retreat at our site throughout the entire year. As with summer campers, they have a love for the peace and solitude found in our woods, fields, farm, and shoreline. For many of these groups, they would choose no other place.
As the director, I am forever amazed at this level of support and humbly grateful for those who give so willingly.
I am thankful for this amazing staff team. I know that as our capacity grows, allowing us to serve more people, touch more lives, and facilitate more joy, this wonderful group of dedicated, mission-driven individual will shine even more.
Our campaign ends on #GivingTuesday - November 27. Please be generous with a gift or pledge towards our goal to make Sound View a place that changes kids' lives all four seasons.
The theme for the conference is “More than Enough.” Our theme will explore times of scarcity and the opportunity for abundance – what drives us to have plenty, how to be both realistic and faithful when confronting our reality, and how God may be calling us or moving us to abundance.

We would like to recognize you and send you a special gift for your thoughtful donation to the #SV404040 capital campaign.
The 17 goals in this resource are in harmony with what we are doing at camp and will help us as we reach out to more campers, outdoor environmental education students, and other young people - the generation that will hopefully save the planet.
I made my pledge. It is more than I have in the bank right now but I know that I can pay it within a year. That is the neat thing about pledges! We can rejoice knowing that we are closer to our #SV404040 goal and you can easily manage your donation.
Every campaign has the customary photo of volunteers stuffing envelopes for a big mailing.
It is a simple formula: Lodging capacity should be greater than or equal to dining capacity.

We like to think of this as a GOOD PROBLEM. We need to “make warm and welcoming” spaces at camp to provide at least forty beds for schools coming in the spring.
Coming up with this plan was easy. We presently have schools - bringing up to 140 - eager to visit Sound View in the cooler months and we would like to serve them.
We are running a small(ish) capital campaign to transform the platform tents into better cabins that will be dry, warm and welcoming for each season. We are doing this because we believe that our summer campers, outdoor environmental education students, and weekend youth groups can benefit from more “campy” lodging than from staying in a dorm style lodge. We come to camp to experience God’s wonders and nothing beats sleeping in a cabin surrounded by nature.
