This is an exciting time! Sound View’s 2018 “mini” capital campaign seeks to raise at least $40,000 to undertake some needed improvements to improve capacity - especially for outdoor education groups. Campaign ends on #GivingTuesday - November 27.
With your financial support, we hope to take on THREE important projects in the winter of 2019:
Convert at least four of the summer tent cabins into year-round cabins - each providing warm, comfortable beds for up to ten people. These are needed to grow capacity, expand our outdoor education program, and replace the old, torn tents.
Improve the dining hall bathrooms by adding a new handicapped-accessible addition. This will also allow the infirmary attached to the dining hall to have its own bathroom.
Add sliding doors to the activity building to create a large, year-round indoor meeting space. In the summer, the doors can be opened wide to maintain the outdoor play space.
Please read the supporting blog posts below.
The theme for the conference is “More than Enough.” Our theme will explore times of scarcity and the opportunity for abundance – what drives us to have plenty, how to be both realistic and faithful when confronting our reality, and how God may be calling us or moving us to abundance.

We would like to recognize you and send you a special gift for your thoughtful donation to the #SV404040 capital campaign.
The 17 goals in this resource are in harmony with what we are doing at camp and will help us as we reach out to more campers, outdoor environmental education students, and other young people - the generation that will hopefully save the planet.
I made my pledge. It is more than I have in the bank right now but I know that I can pay it within a year. That is the neat thing about pledges! We can rejoice knowing that we are closer to our #SV404040 goal and you can easily manage your donation.
Every campaign has the customary photo of volunteers stuffing envelopes for a big mailing.
It is a simple formula: Lodging capacity should be greater than or equal to dining capacity.

We like to think of this as a GOOD PROBLEM. We need to “make warm and welcoming” spaces at camp to provide at least forty beds for schools coming in the spring.
Coming up with this plan was easy. We presently have schools - bringing up to 140 - eager to visit Sound View in the cooler months and we would like to serve them.
